ALPHA · HOW TO PLAY

THE RULES

Seven predictions. One Crystal Ball. Make your calls, then see how you measure up.

HOW POINTS WORK

Points for a correct answer = 10 + (100 − the likelihood percentage of your chosen outcome).

70% likelihood → 40 points if correct.

30% likelihood → 80 points if correct.

Correct Crystal Ball at 30% → 160 points.

Likelihoods are estimates, not guarantees. The points displayed on each answer show its normal reward before any Crystal Ball multiplier.

1. Choose your Seven

Choose exactly seven different predictions from the Board. Pick YES or NO for each. You can choose across any of the available categories.

2. Lock before the deadline

Check the picking window shown on the Board and the closing time on every question. Each of your seven questions must still be open when you lock. Some questions close earlier than the overall entry deadline. Selecting answers is not enough: press LOCK YOUR SEVEN and receive confirmation.

3. Your choices are final

Once you lock your Seven, your answers, Crystal Ball and Backup Ball cannot be changed—even if the deadline has not yet passed.

4. Follow the Gameweek

Each gameweek runs from Monday at midnight to the following Monday at midnight, Eastern Time. The Board shows the published picking window for the available gameweek. Individual questions close before their events can become known, so the available selection can shrink during picking. My Seven shows your locked entry and results.

5. Earn points for correct calls

A correct answer earns the points saved when you lock your Seven. Those points stay fixed, even if the market probability changes afterward. An incorrect answer earns zero. The less likely your chosen outcome at the time of locking, the more points you earn if it is correct.

6. Choose your Crystal Ball

Choose one of your Seven as your Crystal Ball. If that answer is correct, it earns twice its normal points. If it is incorrect, it earns zero.

7. Choose your Backup Ball

Choose a different prediction from your Seven as your Backup Ball. It receives the double-points multiplier only if your Crystal Ball is voided. An incorrect Crystal Ball does not activate your Backup Ball.

8. Understand void predictions

A prediction may be voided if its event is canceled or cannot be settled under its stated criteria. Any prediction still unresolved when its Gameweek ends is automatically voided. Later results will not change that outcome. A void earns zero points and is excluded from accuracy. If your Crystal Ball is void, the double-points multiplier moves to your Backup Ball. If both are void, neither earns points.

9. Track your standing

Gameweek points are earned during an individual week. Your season total adds your Gameweek scores together. Season standings rank players by total points, with equal totals sharing a rank.

What does accuracy mean?

Accuracy is your correct answers divided by your correct and incorrect answers. Pending and void predictions are excluded. For example, four correct answers, two incorrect answers and one void give you 67% accuracy when rounded.

The Midterms Special has separate entry and settlement rules. Its questions can remain pending after election day.
